O-film said to order RMB 65.89 mln touch fingerprint sensors from FPC.

On March 24, Sweden-based Fingerprint Cards (FPC) announed it has received an order for its touch fingerprint sensor FPC1025 from one of its module partners. Deliveries are planned for Q2 2015 and the sensors will be used by smartphone manufacturers in China. The order value of 90 MSEK (aprox. RMB 65.89 million) is included in the communicated revenue guidance of + 1 000 MSEK for 2015.



Jörgen Lantto, acting President and Chief Executive Officer of FPC, comments: “In addition to the order announced March 19, this order also applies to deliveries of FPC1025. As previously communicated we are partnering with several module vendors and these orders confirm that our partners will use FPC1025 for deliveries to smartphone manufacturers in China”.
An industry insider confriemd that it was O-film, a business partner of FPC who placed the order. Back in January 2015, FPC and O-Film announced partnership on touch fingerprint sensors. FPC is providing its touch fingerprint sensor technology whilst O-Film is developing, manufacturing and selling fingerprint sensor modules to OEMs. The first market launch with O-Film modules uses FPC1025 and is expected in Q2 2015. Initial revenues will be generated for FPC during Q1 2015.
