There has been different speculation about a pending release of a mini variant of the flagship Huawei Ascend Mate 7. The 6-inch display sized phablet is one of the best of 2014 with an outstanding design and a fingerprint scanner on the back.
According to a Chinese publication today which is also backed up by images; Huawei already has the Huawei Mate 7 Mini or Huawei Ascend Mate 7 Mini in the works and it’s release is expected to be soon. Since the company has dropped the Ascend Moniker, the Mate 7 Mini would definitely be the release name. The device in the picture does not have the Huawei look which suggest the one compared is in its pre-production stage.
The Huawei Mate 7 Mini is expected to sport a reduced 4.7-inch display and also has the same fingerprint scanner on the back like it’s elder brother. The device was on display at the MWC 2015 but the company did not make any announcement on the device.
By our own permutation, if the Huawei Mate 7 Mini manages to sport a 4.7-inch Full HD display (forget Quad HD), powered by the company’s Kirin 925 octa-core processor with 2GB of RAM and Android Lollipop OS. If the device manages to hold on to the fingerprint sensor, then it would be a real deal.
Huawei has been teasing the Huawei P8 flagship for a while now and the device is expected to go official at some point in April (April 15th) in London. The company could as well announce the Huawei Mate 7 Mini alongside the new model flagship. We will be keeping tabs on this device to see if more details would unfold soon.
