Within 64 seconds, 30,000 OnePlus 2 units sold out as a flash

OnePlus One is an Android smartphone manufactured by OnePlus, a Chinese startup company co-founded by former Oppo vice president Pete Lau. Unveiled in April 2014, it is first product by OnePlus.
Oh my GOD, over a million people requested an invite to buy an awesome OnePlus 2, though supplies are quite limited. The company put a small batch of 30,000 units up for sale & they ran out in just over a minute, 64 seconds to be exact.
The sales were done through OnePlus’ online store in China. Chinese residents who missed Batch 1 will get another try in a week on August 11. So, keep an eye on it!
Although, it seems that in China you don’t need an invite, those are only for international customers. The base OnePlus 2 costs CNY 2,000 ($320/€295), you have to splurge a bit more for a fancier back (+ CNY 100) & more still if you want a 4GB RAM/64GB storage option (+ CNY 400).
Still, you can get a lot of bang for your buck which is – a dual-SIM phone with 5.5″ 1080p screen, Snapdragon 810 chipset, 13MP/2160p camera and this time Android 5.1 Lollipop + Oxygen OS.

året sålts i över 1,5 miljoner exemplar.

OnePlus confirms that the OnePlus 2 will indeed sport a fingerprint sensor

OnePlus, in its parade of announcing each and every specification of the upcoming OnePlus 2 flagship in separate posts, has announced today that the phone will sport a fingerprint sensor. It was a much-rumored feature of the device (and will probably be coming to the upcoming line of Nexus devices as well, thanks to official support in Android M), and now it’s confirmed.

We told you earlier today about a couple of photos that leaked showing — appropriately — a fingerprint sensor on the back of a device that could potentially be the next OnePlus phone. That device has a metal build, a wood back cover, and appears to have bezels on the top and bottom that just about as thin as razors.
Other OnePlus 2 specs that have been announced up to this point include its Snapdragon 810 processor, and its USB Type-C port for charging and data syncing. Additionally, Carl Pei has mentioned that the phone will cost more than $322, and that it will be officially announced by way of a special virtual reality press conference on July 27th.
With the OnePlus 2, the fingerprint sensor is done right. It’s refined and lightning quick, unlocking your device faster than TouchID. The average person checks their phone over 200 times per day. If you spend just three seconds inputting a PIN number or pattern, that’s over an hour of your time gone each week.
On the OnePlus 2, one quick tap takes you right to your homescreen. With the ability to store up to five fingerprint profiles, it’s fast, it’s safe, and it’s secure. Your smartphone is your most personal device, and its security should be personal, too.
With Android M, Google is introducing official support for fingerprint sensors. While Samsung and other manufacturers have long been building their own solutions, Apple has benefitted from a unified ecosystem through developers who have taken advantage of Touch ID. And with Google adding support for these sensors in Android M, it seems likely that the company would — as usual — use its Nexus line to demo the technology.

i Silicon Valley.
skala upp verksamheten ytterligare.

OnePlus CEO all but confirms Snapdragon 810

Pete Lau, founder and CEO of OnePlus, has been discussing the company's upcoming flagship, presumably to be called OnePlus Two, with fans over Weibo – a Chinese social network. Aside from praising the home-brewed Hydrogen OS (or H2 OS), apparently an offshot or upgrade of the OxygenOS we've seen replacing Cyanogenmod as an operating system on OnePlus handsets, following a fiasco of misunderstandings and deals gone sour, Lau also talked briefly on hardware and pricing.

Namely, the CEO seems to suggest, or at least – doesn't deny – that the OnePlus Two will be loaded with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810. This may stir some stinging comments, as the SoC has been quite controversial as of late, following allegations that it tends to overheat and throttle a bit too much, and the fact that the OnePlus Two is not coming for a few more months, which means that it could easily wait out Qualcomm's next offering. However, the company will be looking for an easy way to build an affordable, bang-for-the-buck handset and placing a still potent, yet not cutting-edge SoC in the Two will allow it to cut some corners in the budget.

Now, on the topic of pricing, Pete Lau said that, assuming the phone is equipped with the Snapdragon 810, a price of ¥2499 (~$403) sounds "reasonable". Now, as far as availability goes, we'll have to fall back on previous rumors, which claim that the company's second flagship will be launched in Q3 2015, sporting a fingerprint scanner among other surprises.

i Silicon Valley.
skala upp verksamheten ytterligare.

OnePlus will announce something on April 20; the OnePlus 2, maybe?

While OnePlus already confirmed that it's planning to launch two new smartphones in 2015, one of them being called OnePlus 2, both are expected to be available in the second half of the year. Still, this doesn't mean that OnePlus can't announce them (or at least one of them) in the near future. The company today sent out virtual invitations to a mysterious event that will be held on Monday, April 20.''

Other than "From here on out, anything could happen. #‎NeverSettle‬", OnePlus doesn't say anything about the event. However, since the OnePlus One was announced one year ago, in April 2014, perhaps it's time for the OnePlus 2 to be officially unveiled. As previously reported, the OnePlus 2 will likely be more expensive than the OnePlus One (which costs as low as $299, unlocked). The new handset might be powered by a Snapdragon 810 processor, while also possibly featuring expandable memory, fingerprint scanner, and a 5.5-inch display.

As for the other new smartphone that OnePlus is working on, this should be a cheaper model, and for now there's no word on what features it may offer.

What do you think, will OnePlus really announce a new smartphone on April 20, or are we going to see another product being presented on that day?
